LINDNER PRAGUE CASTLE HOTEL We quite enjoyed staying in this Lindner hotel located high atop the city, right behind the Strahov Monastery. The views just around the corner are some of the best in Prague – it’s also next door to the brewery/restaurant located on the Monastery grounds. The staff is very helpful and the breakfast buffet was delicious! To see more about our stay, check out our blog post on the Lindner Prague Castle!
MISS SOPHIES The stylish 19th century art nouveau building has a lovely courtyard and beautifully furnished rooms. The tram is close that will take you right up to the castle as well.
ARPACAY HOSTEL We stayed at Arpacay several years ago and rented a three person private room. The views over lesser town are some of our favorite and the other best view points are right around the corner. The lounge area is always lively with fellow backpackers and they offer an all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast!
HANAVSKY PAVILLION We stumbled across this beautiful old building on our walk through Letna Beer Garden. It sits right on top of the hill with panoramic views – we would recommend doing a sunset dinner up there. Don’t let the cold stop you, they have heaters on the patio.
KLASTERNI PIVOVAR We ate here several years ago and couldn’t wait to go back this time around. The outdoor heated patio is shared with the neighboring brewery and has blankets and great goulash in bread bowls. Not to mention the beer is delicious and brewed on site.
KAMPA PARK Captivating views of Charles Bridge right on the Vltava River! The menu is traditional European/ Czech and is complete with a great wine list.
LETNA BEER GARDEN Grab a beer for 80 cents and wander around the park with tons of amazing look outs over the entire city and river.
THE STRAHOV MONASTERY Hike up the charming streets of Old Town Prague to the top of the hill where the Monastery resides. Once you’ve made it, treat yourself to a glass of wine at one of the vineyards in the hills while overlooking sweeping views of Prague from above.
STARBUCKS Found on the top of the hill in Old Town on the west side of Charles Bridge (also a hike but so worth it). Grab yourself a coffee and hang out on the patio while enjoying street music and watch the clouds roll in and out over the charming town.
CHARLES BRIDGE If you wake up before sunrise to get there you can beat (the majority of) the crowd. This is one of the most fascinating view points in the city, lots of people-watching, vendors and Old Town architecture towering above you at either end of the bridge. Watch for pick pocketers here!
SIDE TRIP: CESKY KRUMLOV
We took a 3 hour, 7 euro STUDENT AGENCY bus to the storybook village of Cesky Krumlov. The buses have wifi, charging outlets, complimentary coffee, screens on the back of each chair with several movie options and comfy seats that recline. The village is so pristine with winding hilly cobble stone roads, riverside cafes, colorful buildings with flowers spilling out of every window box. The food is extremely inexpensive as well!
